My girlfriend recently asked me to throw her a baby shower. I was of course elated to be given such a responsibility, but soon was overwhelmed with the work. I wanted to throw her a great baby shower, so I hopped online to look for ideas. Seems these days that many people are going for themes at their baby showers, so I figured that would work for my girlfriend's shower as well. I thought that choosing a theme would be a breeze, turns out it is not.

Pooh is a popular theme because of its appeal to everyone. Older people remember reading the Pooh books as children, and younger people probably did to, or saw the cartoons on TV. It's also gender neutral if you don't know the sex of the baby. Once you have your theme you can get invitations, and yes, you can get Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations.

The problem was that I had too many Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations to sift through. I never thought about the different themes within the theme that I would have to consider. There are classic Pooh designs that appeal to a traditional theme. The Pooh designs from my childhood really stood out but the baby Pooh designs seemed perfect for the occasion.

I was pretty sure that I wouldn't use the baby Pooh designs. These characters are really cute and they do fit the overall event but these Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitation weren't my style. They are adorable but I really wanted something that was a little more personal. This left me with two other options to consider.

The classic Pooh designs are really attractive. This design offers muted colors and a softer feel. I really loved this look and these Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations were very appealing to me. I could imagine the entire party decorated around this theme and that made the decision very tough.

The colors in the classic Pooh line are just so nice and soft, whereas the newer Pooh merchandise is so bright it becomes obnoxious. I wanted my friend's baby to have a calm beginning, to not be overwhelmed by all the colors.

No matter what you choose, there are tons of theme type party supplies out there to help you along, from invitations to balloons, gift wrap and more. All you need to do is spend some time looking at them to find the right one for your baby shower.
