Watch Out For The First Internet Marketing Blunder

Internet Marketing and Affiliate Marketing Marketing Blunders

The First Blunder.....

....Not analyzing and assessing your marketing strategies.

There is no single 'best' marketing strategy. Numerous variables in market needs, competitors and competitive products at different times present copious challenges to a marketer. You need to examine different approaches and combinations, and apply those that give you the most promising result.

Because so many factors affect marketing results, effective and flexible strategies need to be adopted and even changed rapidly, in response to the market reaction.

To profit from any business you need to first satisfy your customer's needs and wants…which means you need to first identify and understand what these are for your target market.

Your target market. And your product or service. If there is a mis-match between these two, your business will fail, regardless of how fantastic your marketing campaign is.

Can you make an educated guess on what your target market wants? If you know your target market very well and have done your research thoroughly, you can – to some extent. A surer way is, of course, to get your target market to tell you.
That makes sense but how the dickens do you 'ask' your target market?

Here are two possibilities:

1. If you have an opt-in list, ask them. Design creative means to do this and make it interesting. Ask for their inputs, ideas and opinions. People love being consulted.

2. If you've got a wider market, or no list, explore the most searched keywords. There are several tools available for this, most of them free. Just google 'popular keywords' and take your pick.

Evaluating.
When you compare one strategy with another, and evaluate the results, you will find that different internet marketing approaches bring varying results. In writing ads, the effect of word choice, presentation, colors and graphics all contribute to gaining the reader's attention and subsequent decision. Try various representation of the three key contents of an advertising message, which are:

1. What your product or service is
2. What benefits it will bring to your prospective customers
3. What specific action you want them to take.

Experiment with your ad design and ad copy. Try different headlines and word choice. Very often even a subtle change in what you write and how you write it will determine your reader's acceptance or rejection of your message. Use proven psychological apllications when composing your copy.

You need to experiment and analyze not only ad design and content, but also levels of pricing [if it's your own product], to find out what the market will accept. Use diverse marketing methods, or different follow-ups, and monitor the response, to identify which methods or combination of methods give you the best response.

Testing applies to every aspect of marketing. It's the only way to make sure your internet marketing and promotion activities are meeting their objectives.
