We all know that putting water in a gas tank will ruin the car, right? Well, the answer is yes and no. Regular water would harm the car put directly in the tank but today, there is a way to use water as fuel. The result is higher efficiency, less expense, and better environment simply by having the car run on water.

Being able to run your car on water has never been more realistic. Although you could not simply fill the gas tank with water, you can use water as a means of fuel instead of gas. Obviously, the amount of money saved is tremendous, not to mention the benefit to the environment.

With gas prices reaching $4 per gallon, researchers and technologists are working hard to find alternatives. One such option is a new car technology in which using water as fuel has become a reality. To run your car on water, there are some changes that need to be done, but experienced mechanics can often do this on their own.

To take a normal car and switch it so it can run on water uses electrolysis. With this particular method, water is converted into what is known as brown gas or hydroxyl, usually referred to as HHO. With this, mileage in a car can be as much as 50% or more.

There are even systems being addressed currently that could improve this up to 100%. A number of studies have found that most of the new cars being created today are so inefficient that only 20% of the gas is used. That means that as much as 80% of gas purchased is simply being wasted, not to mention polluting the air.

For you to run your car on water, new and innovative programs are out there. While the concept is the same, each program takes a slightly different approach. As an example, there is now a program that would allow a car to run solely on hydroxyl.

Many people run on water and have found the car operates perfectly normal. Therefore, individuals interested in cutting gas costs and helping the environment has something to think about. The car engine runs much cleaner so overall, this is a perfect solution.

What most people do not realize is that the concept of water for fuel is actually more than 90 years in the making. However, there was not the technology or materials to bring the idea to fruition. Today, there are many hydrogen generators out there but developers are now taking all the options and trying to develop a single solution.

One particular technology was designed on taking water and splitting it in the vehicle so gas put into the car was not actually making it run but adding to combustion efficiency. The great thing is that there are actually ways a beginner can accomplish this. For instance, for as little as $100 and everyday tools, this type of system can be installed in no time.

Even cars with a fuel injection system or computerized motor can have this done. While to use water for fuel in these instances requires a more skilled mechanic, it is possible. Obviously, this is a huge benefit to people around the world struggling with the high cost of gas.
