The x-ray can reveal any fracture in the tooth root. If the patient is aged then other tests as mentioned by the dentist or dental specialist need to be carried out.
Placement of the dental implant: A special surgical technique is used to place the dental implants in the bone. The type of implant decides whether the implant is going to be placed completely or partially under the gums. The implant placement procedure has to be followed. The implants are not disturbed for 2-4 months. This is the time during which the bone can grow around the dental implants, forming a strong biological bond with it. This phase is also called bone "remodeling" phase. In this phase the dentist is going to provide you with temporary replacement teeth. This is done just to ensure that during the treatment the patient is never without the teeth.
Attachment to the abutment: This procedure is after the bone "remodeling" phase. An Abutment is attached to each dental implant. This Abutment is a small connector post. The permanent teeth is going to be attached to the Abutments.
Fabricating the replacement teeth: First the impressions of the teeth and the implant abutments have to be taken, then the temporary placement teeth has to be placed, the proper shade of the replacement teeth has to be selected, and in final stages the replacement teeth have to be tried for proper fit. This will need a string of appointments with the dentist or the dental specialist. The laboratory technician will be busy between these appointments. He will be fabrication the replacement teeth and the underlying structures that are going to be joined to the implants.
