Influence Of the Seven Chakras

Chakras are the foci within our bodies where the energy which makes up our life force is generated. Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel; a good representation of the spherical energy field the word refers to.
There are six main chakras that are stacked in a column along a person's spine, and there is a seventh that is above them, beyond the physicality of the body.
The Chakra is commonly described as being energy, but it is important to understand the seven chakras and how they related to your body.
A healthy alignment of all of the seven Chakras will allow you to maintain your own health and happiness during your life. It is important to understand what each of the chakras is, and what it does for you.
Muladhara
The Muladhara is the Chakra of your lower body. This Chakra is responsible for your survival instinct and other related primal behaviors. Located in the perineum, the Muladhara relates to the potentiality of human life.
This is the Chakra which corresponds to the adrenal glands in the physical body and produces the fight or flight response.
Swadhisthana
The Swadhisthana is the reproductive Chakra and corresponds to the genitals. Also known as the sacral Chakra, this is the Chakra which controls your sexuality and the creative impulse.
This is the Chakra which controls the sex hormones as well. This Chakra also is responsible for mood swings, It's symbol is a six-petal lotus.
Manipura
Located in the Navel, the Manipura or solar plexus Chakra is responsible for the transition from simple to comlex emotions. The Manipura corresponds to the pancreas in the physical body.
The Manipura is important in converting food to energy. It's symbol is a ten petal lotus.
Anahata
The Anahata is the heart. This Chakra is responsible for love and other complex emotions, as well as your sense of equilibrium and well being overall. This Chakra corresponds to the thymus gland (located in the chest) and the immune system in the physical body.
This chakra is symbolized by a twelve petal lotus. The love and the compassion are dictated by this chakra.
Vishuddha
The Vishudda is the throat. It is responsible for communication and growth.The symbol of this Chakra is a sixteen petal lotus.
It also controls your powers of communication and corresponds to the thyroid gland in the physical body.
Ajna
The Anja is your eyebrow or forehead. This Chakra is the third eye. Ajna is responsible for your ability to visaualize and is the Chakra related to light, time and awareness.
It is symbolized by a two petal lotus, and is in charge of regulating sleep and awakening. These are very important functions within the body, and therefore this chakra is very important.
Sahasrara
The Sahasrara is the final Chakra. This is the Chakra which is responsible for consciousness; it is connected to every other system in your body and is the most important element in consciousness. This Chakra corresponds to the pituitary gland in the physical body. The symbol of this Chakra is a thousand petal lotus.
