How To Properly Raise A Pug Rescue Dog

By: Jenny Donaldson

Maybe you have been deeply thinking of ways you can give back to your community or maybe you were watching something on the television that really made you stop and think, but either way, you have found yourself wanting to bring a Pug rescue puppy into your home to raise. While this is an excellent way to make a difference in the world, raising a Pug rescue dog, or any dog for that matter, is a huge responsibility and it takes a lot of time and patience.
Make sure that you do not just want to sign up because it would be a good story to tell or it would be something to impress your family. You must really be into raising a Pug rescue dog for the right reasons in order for it to work.
The last thing you want is to bring that poor dog home and ruin his or her training making them useless for the field they were meant to participate in. If you are going to do this, you have to do it all of the way.
Once you have really sat down and gone over everything, it is time to make sure that you are contacting the right people to get involved with training a Pug rescue dog. There will be a lot of paper work involved so you want to make sure that you pick a time to sign everything when you have plenty of time available to read over everything. It is vital to your success and to the success of the Pug rescue dog that you really know what all is expected out of both of you.
If you have any questions or concerns about anything that is within the paperwork, make sure you ask before you sign and take your Pug rescue dog home with you. The dog you take home is meant to help the public and if you do not complete the proper training with him or her, you have taken away their chance at doing their job, which will make them feel so important. A lot of dogs take pride in their work so you do not want to take that away from him or her before they even get the chance to enjoy it.
Once you have your new Pug rescue dog at home you will want to begin training right away by following the rules and guidelines that have been laid out for you. You do not want to do anything that would put the dog's job or the life of another person in jeopardy. Make sure that they can follow and complete all basic commands and tasks so that when test time comes they will pass with flying colors and make you proud.
And also, you want to make sure that you do not make the mistake that a lot of people do. So many people forget that showing love and compassion to the Pug rescue dog is important because they do not want it to be hard when the dog leaves. You have to show love in order for them to do their job to the best of their ability.
Even though it will be hard to let go, you will know that it is for a good cause and they will soon find their work extremely rewarding.
