Do Wrinkle Creams Work: The aeonion question

By: Geoff Hopkins

A mirror is not always your best friend. It doesn't hesitate to highlight even the smallest acne or a pimple on a face. It is noticed that good looks are consistently ranked high when it comes to survival. Even our history has umpteen examples of some of the biggest wars being fought for the sake of a gorgeous lady.

World has several examples like Cleopatra, whose magnificent beauty still charms everyone. Youth and beauty go hand in hand. To preserve beauty, we need to preserve youth and vice versa. Beautiful people never go un-noticed.

Old age brings with it quite a few issues, ugly wrinkles being the most important of them. Though the exact cause of wrinkles is a little difficult to explain, but factors like excessive exposure to the harsh rays of the sun (which include ultra-violet rays), too much of strain etc have been identified as some of the factors behind wrinkles.

Our skin contains some proteins like "Collagen" and "Elastin". With the advancement in our age, the availability of these proteins in our body decreases to a great extent. And this results in development of wrinkles. Wrinkles are generally associated with the process of aging.

The question here is of the effectiveness of a wrinkle cream. The world today very proudly boasts of thousands of anti-aging products and almost all the brands have a series of anti-aging products lined up in their shelves. This industry in its own is a million dollar industry generating millions of revenue every year.

These wrinkle creams can be found anywhere from your local shop or your online store. These products and their advertisements often boast of immediate results such as disappearance of wrinkles overnight or within a week's time and a more healthy looking skin. The unique selling point of all these creams and lotions remains the same, fighting and removing wrinkles.

If the question "do wrinkle creams work?" bothers you, then you must adopt a smart approach to understanding anti aging skin care products. Skin-type varies from person to person. An oily skin type needs a different anti-aging product while a dry skin asks for yet another wrinkle cream. Anti-aging products do work, but do not expect a speedy effect. Having patience helps a lot while checking the effectiveness of an anti-aging product.

A certified skin care expert is the right person to understand more about your skin type and the anti-aging product best suitable for you. The products of established brands in the cosmetic industry are usually a safe bet. Also, give time to your skin to accept the product and show the results. Now, it's your turn to answer "how effective are wrinkle creams?"
