Boston Terrier rescue In The Phonebook

By: Wendy Caples

Finding the right dog for you can be a challenge, but it is not an impossible one. If you think a Boston Terrier is right for you, and want to find one, a good source is your local phone book. Check there first to see if there is a Boston Terrier rescue near you. If there is, call them up to discuss what you are looking for.
The Boston Terrier is a spunky breed, so be prepared for a dog with a lot of energy. A simple Internet search should reveal what rescue locations are in your area. The Internet can help a lot because the rescuers generally have descriptions and pictures of the dogs on their web sites. Search through these, then call the location to set up a time to go and meet the dog. If you have other pets, you may want to discuss bringing them with you so you can ensure that the dogs will get along.
Once you have completed your research to find the Boston Terrier rescue nearest to your location, do a bit more work and see if you can locate a couple more. Use whatever means you have at your disposal to try to track these down and compare the differences between several before choosing one.
It is very important to you and your animal that you find a quality rescue shelter to get your family pet from, as not all are created equal.
You want to have confidence to know that the animal that you are getting is disease free, or if does have health problems that you are aware of them up front. Thinking that you have a pet that is healthy and then finding out that it is not can be a very depressing and expensive experience. That is why it is of the utmost importance that you do your due diligence in finding a shelter you can rely on.
After finding Boston Terrier rescue that you want, you now need to figure out which dog will work best for you. The Boston Terrier can be a bit of a finicky breed so plan to take the time to get know one before bringing it home. Also make sure that this is the dog breed that you want, and if so get in contact with the shelters to plan some time to look at the dogs.
Once there make absolutely sure that the dog you are planning to get will work for you. I can't stress enough how hard it can be to find that right dog. Boston Terriers are wonderful companions and some of the best dogs I've ever had have come from shelters.
A little work and research to find the right shelter and the right dog makes all the difference in the world, take the time to make the right decision.
