Bible Prophecy And Election 2008

Jesus predicting approaching events forewarned of "wars and rumours of wars" as warning signs to look for signaling the concluding events that will happen on earth prior to His return.

He likewise pointed out that these matters must be, but the end was not quite yet when we see these things happening. As a matter of fact there were and have been wars and rumors of wars on umpteen occasions since he articulated the statement, but the conclusion is not yet. There were additional occurrences that had to come to fruition, but the prophetic significance is that these wars, and rumors thereof, will intensify as the end draws closer and closer.

The prophetic perspective that I would like to address to is that of the present U.S. war (billed as part of the broad war on terror) as it concerns the harm done to the United States and the rights of its people. The large majority of the American citizens are opposed to this war,as a matter of fact, very many of them believe that it was based in absolute deception from the outset and the have made it very clear that that is the way that they feel.

What is disquieting about it however is the refusal of the elected representatives to respect the will of the people. The American taxpayer is being bullied to spend billions and billions of dollars for a war that they have very clearly spoken that they do not want.

Additionally, millions of Americans are losing their houses, paying higher gas prices, food prices etc., while seeing billions of their tax dollars being committed to war spending,and bank bailouts. Notwithstanding, the mantra of "government by the people" in "free" America is still being blown.

The Bible prophets warned us that the fundamental representative government in America would at length fall under attack, and finally be changed but the people, by and large, have not cared to heed or consider the warnings of the prophets.

The Bible encourages us to "Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper." 2 Chronicles 20:20.

However, we have not listened to this and as a consequence we discover ourselves living in a new American America which the ideals of the Bill Of Rights have become lightly considered by many in places of power and influence. And the outcome of this will be an America that is unrecognizable from what it used to be and what made it superb.

An excellent example of this is when long time senator and Republican candidate for president John McCain was asked on 60 minutes "At what point do you stop doing what you think is right, and start doing what the majority of the American people want" (with regard to the war in Iraq).

Senator McCain responded to the interviewer, "I disagree with what the majority of the American people want".
